Narrative picture!
Hi, you have probably seen my post on my narrative, well I turned it into a book!
Here are some pictures!
My Narrative-The Day The Herd Was Saved!!
The Day The Herd Was Saved!
“These holidays are going to be SO boring!” moaned Viki Adanathy.
“I know, no horses except Stardust and Nightstorm for 12 weeks,” replied Viki’s twin, Amanda, “Just a long tedious lecture trip about financial crisis!”
Although Viki and Amanda were twins, they didn’t look very alike: Viki had straight, ebony brown, long hair, forest green eyes, and tanned skin. But while Viki was dusky, Amanda was quite light, in comparison; she had wavy, elbow length honey blonde hair, deep brown eyes, and golden skin. The twins may have looked different, but they were much similar at heart; at least, they both absolutely love horses, especially theirs, that live on their farm in Spain, their home.
“Girls, DINNER!” shouted Viki and Amanda’s dad. “ It’s pizza!” and at that, both twins ran downstairs. At the dinner table Viki and Amanda’s parents told them some exciting news. “What is it?” inquired Amanda.
“You’re going to stay with your Aunt Emma instead of going on the lecture!” their mum replied, Amanda and Viki sighed, going to Aunt Emma’s was JUST AS bad! “Oh, well, okay.” both twins reluctantly agreed.
“Why don’t you like Aunt Emma, girls?” asked their mum.
It’s not her,” replied Viki, “It’s the fact that we wanted to take Stardust and Nightstorm, like we would on the lecture.”
“But you can, Aunt Emma has a farm!” explained their mum.
“Well, that’s alright then,” agreed Amanda, “We’ll go pack.”
“Good idea, you leave on Thursday.” said Mr. Adanathy.
On Thursday at 3’ o’clock Aunt Emma was greeting Viki and Amanda. “It is so nice to see you!” Aunt Emma embraced them in a hug. When they had finally finished grooming, and feeding the horses, and putting their things away, everyone sat down around the polished oak table. Aunt Emma Started to tell the girls about breeds and what makes a good mix was, then she mentioned the wild herd of horses that roamed the Spanish land. “The herd is called Espiritu Libre, in English that’s Free Spirit.” explained Aunt Emma .
“Wow, that’s amazing!” sighed Amanda .
“What are you girls planning to do tomorrow?” Aunt Emma asked.
“We were planning on going on a nice, luxurious, long trail ride.” said Viki
“Then you better get to bed.” suggested Aunt Emma.
“Good idea.” the twins agreed, then they pulled their tired bodies up the stairs.
The next day, on their trail ride, Viki and Amanda were just trotting along, when they saw a group of men with army green rifles discussing something that looked important. Amanda and Viki slowly made their way closer to the hunters, trying not to pry, but accidentally overhearing. Viki and Amanda exchanged a surprised and worried glance, the hunters were planning to kill Espiritu Libre! The wild herd just HAD to be saved! “I don’t know what to do!” Amanda miserably sighed.
“Me neither.” replied Viki.
After hours of thinking they decided to go tell the Wild Horse And Land Protection Agency, or WHALPA. A little while later they had figured out what they would say, but when they got to the Protection League, it just all came out. “Excuse me, sir,” said Viki to the lead of the WHALPA, “We found out that there are plans to kill the wild herd, Espiritu Libre!”
“I know,” commented the ranger, “I know all about it, it’s sad, and if you two girls can think of an idea to save Espiritu Libre, then I oblige!” Amanda and Viki shuffled away, back to Aunt Emma’s house, to brainstorm.
Amanda woke the very next day with just about, the BEST idea she had ever had! She slid downstairs and told Viki her plan. “Viki,” Amanda yelled, “I’ve got it, to save the wild horses let’s have a muster!” Viki was amazed!
“Amanda, that’s the best idea ever!” she quickly rang up the WHALPA, and arranged the muster. She also told Aunt Emma. The muster was to take place the very next Tuesday.
The twins woke up, (well, really, they didn’t sleep!) on the morning of the muster, positively bubbling with excitement and anticipation. Aunt Emma zoomed them to the army base, where the muster was to take place. They busily started setting up, and about ten minutes later the first herd came. The herd was led by a dove-grey stallion, followed by three black mares, two skewbald mares with matching foals, and another chestnut mare, keeping the herd together. “Wow, I love the dove-grey.” breathed Amanda
“Me too.” said Viki. Then finally the last herd came in, and it was time for the trucks to come and take the wild horses to their new homes. A whole lot of people signed up to adopt some wild horses to train, so a lot went to normal homes. A few went to El Caballo Danza Magnifico, the famous, not so famous Spanish riding school. But all the rest, (this made sure none went to slaughter.) went home with Viki and Amanda.
“I’m so glad we saved so many!” sighed Amanda
“Same, until they kick, and bite me!” laughed Viki.
Finally, all the horses were at Amanda and Viki’s farm; the training had begun, and already they knew that they had a lot of trouble on their hands! But no one minded, because the herd was saved, and that was what mattered.

How I'm Awesome - Explanation
Hi, Eve here. I think I'm pretty awesome. I think I'm awesome because, I`m a role model, I make people laugh and I am an all rounder.
I'm an amazing role model. I sit up straight and don't talk on the mat, I only talk about work at my desk. I always get to work instantly. I help other people when they're stuck, I also show them whats right. When people want to say something I listen.
Making people happy, laughing, and smiling is also what makes me an awesome person. I make my friends and family laugh and smile, especially when they're feeling sad. This is an important quality, but only if you use it at the right time, I do. I only make people laugh when it's appropriate. For example, I don't make people laugh and smile when they need to work, listen, or anything else that needs to be serious.
Finally I'm an all-rounder. I play sport, dance, play music, I'm funny and kind, and I am very helpful. Here is some things I do: play soccer and netball, swim, play piano and ukulele, dance the maypole, do kapa haka, hip hop, enviro group and more. I'm also a good friend and very social. I am also awesome at academics.
I'm awesome because of lots of things. But 3 of them are, I'm a role model, I make people happy, laughing and smiling, and I'm an all-rounder. Everyone has something that makes them awesome, so think about what makes you awesome!

ROLL UP , ROLL UP
Starting on Wednesday the 30th of September and finishing on Friday the 2nd of October, Lenya, Alexia, and Eve went to a 3 day Circus School at TAPAC - The Auckland Performing Art Center.
On the first day Eve, Lenya, and Alexia went to Circus they started with 2 warm ups. The firstb one was a fast moving activity. There were lots of of actions that Mike (one of the teachers) called out extremely fast. They were: seal, road kill, torpedo, tornado, ninja, dead cow, man the life boats, climb the rigging, crows nest, scrub the deck, captains coming and admiral on deck. The second excersize was called “mat sliding”. There were 2 mats and everyone got split into 3 groups. The first 2 groups lined up behind the mats and the other team sat down. One person from each team slid on the mat. Whichever team got the mat to bang the wall first won. Whoever lost swapped with the team that was sitting down. They were then told to organise themselves into a different 3 groups. Eve, Lenya and Alexia all were in a group called the Mminions, and everyone had minion names. First they went ton the triple trapeze where the learnt box, birds nest, and some more with a teacher called Ryan. After that they went to the hammock. There they learnt how to do the splat, which is a way of getting down, they had to hang from the hammock then drop their legs. Also they learnt how to sit and roll. Finally they went to the tissue (also known as the silks). First everybody had to climb, then they learnt the mermaid. After they learnt the rolls, turns, and coathanger. Their day was finished with a show and tell.
Lenya, Alexia, and Eve started day 2 nice and fresh. As they arrived everyone was sitting on the mat. They joined the group and got into the warm ups. Then they got into 2 groups for tumbling. Alexia, Eve and Lenya’s group was with Mike. Everyone had 2 tricks and they peformed to the other group at the end. Then they did the same aerial routine as the first day. Eve and Lenya also learnt how to spin plates.
Lucky last day and everybody was excited. First everyone did the 2 warmups. Since it was the last day everyone peformed juggling tricks. Some people did poi, juggling or stick throwing. But Alexia did diablo with Mike, and Lenya and Eve did a hoop throwing routine with Ryan. Then they swapped tumbling groups, this time Lenya, Alexia, and Eve were with Bronwin, who they called Scarlet Overkill. Then they peformed again to each other. The teachers told everyone then that there would be a small peformance on the aerial equipment. Alexia did a duo on the lyra, Lenya did tricks on the spanish web, while Eve had a special routine on the tissue which included split, coathanger, and rolls.
Overall everyone had a great experience. Some quotes from the participants were:
“It was amazing, my favourite was the tissue!” from Eve.
“There were so many new things!” from Lenya.
“I really want to do 5 days!” said Alexia.

Week 9 squiggle story
The Cake Shop
On the corner of Aliday road there was an old cake shop. Everyone got their cakes at that shop. There were cakes so big you needed a van to take it home, and some were as small as an orange. The funny thing was you could always find the cake you want, just like the motto stated: all the cakes you'll EVER need!
The shop was owned by an old woman, she didn't look old though. She always wore pink and blue striped baggy pants and a purple DANCE shirt. Her name was Miss Langer and she wasn't married. Whenever anyone walked into her shop she greeted them with a big beam on her face, as she was an extremely gregarious woman, and she always said goodbye with a depressed look.
One day a little girl called Emily skipped into the shop causing the bell to clang. "Hello, how can I help you?" asked Miss Langer.
"I have just come to buy some cupcakes for my birthday." replied shy Emily, "What do you have?"
"Anything you want!" replied Miss Langer.
"Well, some chocolate cupcakes with white chocolate chips and strawberry icing and hundreds and thousands, please." said Emily, extremely fast.
"Of course, follow me into the kitchen." answered Miss Langer. Emily hurried after her, and five minutes later she was hurrying out again holding exactly 69 cupcakes on neatly decorated, purple cupcake holders with aqua swirls.
On the way home Emily puzzled over how Miss Langer baked so fast. The next morning she went back and spent the whole day at the cake shop with miss Langer. She did this every day and at the end Miss Langer told her that she was a magic cake baker. When Emily got home she told her parents. All they did was smile, “maybe they knew all along .” Emily thought to herself, and skipped up to bed.
From then on Emily would go to the cake shop every day.

GTT Reflection
- Why do we do GTT?
So we can share things that we made. So we can learn more about cooking and gardening.
- What kind of foods do we make at GTT?
Vegetarian and no nuts. Different types of things and we have to exchange ingredients.
- What do we want to see more of?
More time and stretch to year sixes. Kids can choose what to cook.
- What do we enjoy most at GTT?
Everything but mostly sharing.
- What do we find difficult at GTT?
Squiggle Story - Week 9
SKY'S SPECIAL LEGS
Sky was a pretty palomino. At a first look she didn't seem any different, she was just a normal golden palomino pony. But then you looked a little closer and you saw that her legs had dazzling white stockings up to her knees. That wasn't all though, if you looked at her hoofs they were as clean as pieces of washing straight of the line.
Her frog was different too, (no, not a jumpy frog, the frog is the soft, sensitive triangle on the hoof.) Sky's frog wasn't dull and dirty, it was bright, clean and ... gold! Everyone always stopped and gasped as she gracefully trotted down the street, her hoofs clopping on the tarmac. People would throw gifts at Sky and her owner, Lucy Beffit, so they were always abundant with pretty things. It didn't go to their heads though. There was always rich adults with lots of money trying to buy Sky, but even though the rich wanted to buy Sky for heaps of money Lucy wouldn't sell her.
One day Lucy and Sky were at the dairy, when Lucy went inside. Immediately a tall man in a pitch black crisp offered a mountain of money for Sky. Of course Lucy said no, she wouldn't sell. The walked out of the dairy. While Lucy was choosing what to buy, the tall man was stealing Sky.
He took her away to his mansion and showed her to his little girl, Ella. The little girl dragged Sky away to the stupendous stables. Meanwhile Lucy was in floods of tears. Her mother called the police and only minutes later they piled into the wailing police car, zooming to the mansion. The police got out of the car and demanded that Sky was given back. The man handed her over straight away without a fuss and apologised.
Sky and Lucy were reunited and always stayed together from then on. I love you Lucy. Thought Sky. I love you Sky, and I'm never letting you out of my sight again. Thought Lucy. And she never did!

Bog Writing-Week 7-The Silver Bridle
Once there was a girl called Alice Stephanie Rose. She lived in a big city with her Mum, Dad, and 2 little and big brothers. Alice didn't like playing with other children, she just sat on her own.
One day she decided to go for a little walk, she chose the steep mountain path. As she was walking along she stumbled over something silver sparkly. "Ow, what was that?" Alice wondered. She picked the thing up, it was a silver bridle.
She put the silver bridle on a humongous rock and pretended that it was a horse. All of a sudden a swirl of colourful, rainbow, magical mist formed into the shapes of Unicorns and Pegasises. She was amazed, and took them home to her stables. But magical creatures lose their powers if they are caged up, and that is what the Unicorns and Pegasises did.
Alice didn't like seeing the magical horses like this, so she sadly brought them back to the rocky mountains. She didn't forget them though, she had created a bond, and she wasn't about to break it. So she visited them every day.

Speech
Hi, a little while ago we wrote and presented our speeches, here`s mine.
Did you know that 330 racehorses died unnecessarily or had crippling injuries in 2014? I strongly believe that competitive jockey racing needs to stop. So what are the conditions that the horses are trained and stabled in? How is their health damaged? And how can we help? Keep listening and you will find out.
The conditions that jockey racing horses are stabled and trained in aren’t up to a very good standard. Average race horses are kept in loose boxes and stay inside while it's being cleaned. In training both legal and illegal devices are used along with pain and fear. When racehorses are only foals they are carefully picked out, and how they are treated depends on what problems they have. For example foals with good attributes are looked after very well, while minor problems can render a horse worthless. Not all horses have bad retirement though, one ex-racehorse in cromwell has a lovely retirement in the fields though he can be a bit naughty.
Horses that race in jockey races health is damaged very badly. Horses are made to race when they are only 2 and that puts them in risk of injury as they are still immature and aren’t ready for the stress of the racing world. Horses who are injured often get fed medication to mask the pain and to keep them going but the injury can just get worse. They can be given drugs but when the injury get serious they are either euthanised or sold at auction as their owners don’tt want them if they can`t race. In addition, when horses get to old to race they are usually sent to slaughter or the local knackery to be turned into pet food. Every year over 25 000 horses die this way in Australia. One study found that 1 horse in every 22 races have injuries that prevent them from finishing the race. Another found that 3 Thoroughbreds die each day in North America.
Jockey racing needs to stop and you’ll be happy to know that you can help. Going to jockey races encourages jockeys to keep racing, so don’t go, and protest against new tracks being built. Support PETA’s (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) efforts and ensure that racing rules are enforced and reformed. If racing doesn’t stop then we at least need some new rules. For instance, jockeys should only carry padded whips, the track should become grass, and horses should only be allowed to race after their 3rd birthday as any time before this could break their skeleton.
I urge you to take action, as now you know what happens backstage of the glamorous race track. I challenge you to protest and make a change to jockey racing. So be the one that gets out there and changes the future of this cruel sport. Horses are extremely intelligent creatures and it is not right to hurt them.

Blog Writing- The Train Tracks
Once upon a time there was one Elephant and one Bear on a bicycle, the Bear`s name was B.O.B (which stands for Bear On Bicycle.) B.O.B and the Elephant both came at some train tracks at the same time. B.O.B wanted the Elephant to go to the end of the track so he could get across and pointed back at the beginning ( look, I`m tired of calling The Elephant, The Elephant so I`ll just call him El). But El had different ideas and kept going and pointing to the end so B.O.B could go back.
El and B.O.B started arm wrestling, meanwhile a little Monkey was coming up behind them. He tapped El`s shoulder and El grabbed hold of his tail and started to swing him round like a lasso, El swung him back to the end and the monkey fell on the floor. A little Foal came up to B.O.B and nudged him but she was thrown back as well. All of a sudden a train came rumbling along, B.O.B and El froze, then tried to run but the train was to fast. Both B.O.B and El got flattened and stuck to the wheels, the trained flew away, moaning to itself.
The foal and monkey came together and frowned at each other. Then the foal smiled, she knew that the monkey could climb and swing, she suggested that the monkey swung on the power lines and she ran underneath. The foal`s plan succeeded beautifully and they both got to the other side safely. Always remember the story of El the elephant, B.O.B the bear on the bicycle, the monkey and the foal, ( and by the way don`t ask me what a foal, bear, elephant and a monkey were doing on a train track, I`m just the writer!)

Blog Writing - Creative Story on Cyber Bullying
Emily`s day started like any other day, she strolled into her class and sat on the mat. It was Friday, and tomorrow she was going horse riding with her friend Piper. She was a really good rider and rode as much as she could.
Maths, Reading, Writing, Morning tea, Art, Library, Lunch, Assembly. Emily`s whole day flew by as if a enormous eagle soared into class and took the day with it. She went to bed that night feeling joyful, and woke the next morning, got her jodhpurs and riding boots on and put her helmet in her bag along with a few apples. They picked Piper up and set off. When they got there they saw someone who burst their bubbles, Veronica di`Anglo. She was leading a young palomino mare and had her phone with her. "Just ignore her" said Piper, and she and Emily led out their horses. Piper had a bay mare called Princess, and Emily had a grey (white) mare called Sky. Alexandra, their instructor got them cantering around, but Princess suddenly stopped then started to lie down. " Jump Piper" Alexandra yelled, meanwhile Sky got scared of Princess rolling and started to buck and rear. Piper and Emily both fell crumpled to the ground, Piper was crying and Emily had fainted. No one noticed Veronica videoing the whole thing.
Back at school on Monday everyone was watching the video. Piper and Emily were laughed at wherever they went, they stayed together. Even people who they thought were their friends laughed at them. That day both of their mum`s had a coffee at Piper`s house. The mums noticed that the girls looked sad and asked them what was wrong. Piper and Emily took turns telling the mums. The next morning both mums told the principal and the principal told Veronica and her mum. The video was deleted and Veronica`s phone was taken off her. This wasn`t the first time Veronica had done something like this and the first time she was suspended so this time she got expelled.
Emily and Piper were really happy without Veronica and they went riding again, just to celebrate.

For the horses
On a clear Summer's day fifteen Palominos mares grazed in a paddock with lush green grass. A midget of a pitch black Shetland pony trotted over to say hello. None of the haughty Palominos took any notice and they all cantered away to the other side of the paddock. The little Shetland galloped across to the Palominos with tiny strides.
But the Palominos didn't want the Shetland to join them, so they kicked him. The Shetland didn't mind and thought that they were just play fighting. He nuzzled them at the water trough and made all of them squashed. The Paliminos tried to bite him but they were so squashed that they couldn't.
Later that day when the Palominos were clustered together, whispering secrets, the Shetland enthusiastically charged at them and knocked them over in the mud. They scrambled up with a frustrated look in their eyes. They were going to a show and couldn't get dirty!
When their owner came he took them all off to give them a thorough clean. After the show the Shetland tried to be affectionate, and this time the haughty Paliminos nuzzled him and played with him!
The Paliminos had obviously learnt their lesson. Ever since they would all be awesome friends.

The Wavy Lesson
Once there was a lady, this lady was an aunt, her name was Sadie, and she only had one niece and no nephews. Her niece's name was Emma. Sadie had a secret, she created the shape of waves! She made roaring waves that hardly anyone dared to go on, but then she made waves as peaceful as a sleeping baby for the toddlers and kids.
One day Emma was staying with her aunt. Sadie decided that it was time for Emma to find out her secret so that one day Emma could make waves too. Sadie shook Emma to wake her up then took her out in a boat as sparkling blue as the sea itself. On the boat there was a big thermometer. But the thermometer wasn't a normal thermometer. Its long stick dipped into the peaceful water and there was a lever to pull up and down. Sadie pulled the lever all the way to the top and instantly a storm raged around them, thunder growled, wind screamed, lightning flashed and the sea's icy fingers crept up the side of the boat. Then Sadie yanked it right to the bottom and suddenly the sun shone down, smiling, the gentle breeze tickled Emma`s hair and the waves softly wobbled from side to side like jelly.
" How about you have a go. " said Sadie. Emma tried to push the lever up but couldn't make it move a centimetre. She tried again, but still she had no luck. On the third time Emma pushed so hard that the lever came right off. Emma looked at her aunty, Sadie was so sad and tears like droplets of rain poured down her cheeks. Then Emma had an idea, she rushed into the cabin, grabbed a piece of rope as thick as her arm and ran back out. She pushed the rope into the thermometer and it dangled down, still inside the thermometer. Perfect thought Emma and she ran below deck. Below deck there was a tube where the thermometer should come through, but instead Emma pulled the rope through. When she got back upstairs Sadie looked extremely puzzled. Emma pulled the rope up and the weather turned terrible, then she tugged it down and the weather was once more peaceful. "Well done!" cried Sadie.
The thermometer's fixed and now it`s much easier for Emma to pull the lever and change the weather and sea. Emma and Sadie were as happy as a runner who just came first place in a race.

The Catch
Once upon a time there lived a little boy called Sora. He had to catch fish for his village. One day he was sitting at the edge of the pond, very bored, waiting for a tug at his fishing rod. As he felt a tremendous pull his eyes lit up with hope, then drooped with disappointment as he realised that the fish was hardly enough for one, let alone a whole village.
Sora heard a noise and grabbed his knife, he pushed the shiny leaves apart and saw a red fox with big ears and a white tummy and face. The fox was trapped and had a rope around it`s leg. The surprised boy advanced on the struggling fox with a fierce look in his eyes. He raised his knife and the fox cowered. Sora brought his knife down and through the rope. The fox growled at Sora, who was quite scared, ran back to where Sora had just been fishing and snatched the tiny fish out of his basket.
The fox took off and Sora followed as fast as he could. He hesitated before squeezing into a gap in a thorn bush after the fox. As they squeezed out again Sora caught his beige pants on a thorn and the fox started to jump up the cliff. He pulled his pants free then determinedly followed the fox up the cliff. A strong gust of wind came and Sora`s hat blew off. As Sora looked down he realised how high he was but bravely carried on.
When they reached the top the mist cleared and Sora squinted at the bright sun. The fox was right in front of him and tossed the little fish in to a humongous lake. Sora looked at the lake and stared in amazement at the size of the fish in it. The fox ran up to Sora with a stick in his mouth and Sora broke all the little bits off, got out his spare hook and string, tied it to the stick and flung his fishing rod into the gleaming water with the fox sitting beside him.
When Sora finished fishing he had a humongous fish under his arm and the fox had a smaller one in it`s mouth. They walked off together, Sora very pleased. After Sora had gone the fox turned into it`s true self, a spirit. Gold dust swirled into the air then faded and turned into the night sky.

Clock tower writing - prequel
Once there lived a little girl who`s name was Emma. She lived in a village called Ever Happy where everything was happy and bright. Emma went to Ever school and had lots of friends.
One day a girl called Olive came up to her in class and asked whether she wanted to be buddies for the activity that they had to do for school, everyone had to make a poster about why the village is so nice. Emma was a kind girl and said "Yes, of course." Even though Olive hated her. Olive sneakily smiled. The next day Emma skipped to school and bumped into Olive at the front gate. " Hi," Olive said "I thought we could go and find some of the colours of Ever Happy for our poster."
"OK." replied Emma. After school that day they began their walk. They walked over to the big clock tower that protected the whole village. Olive climbed up, ignoring the calls from Emma telling her to turn back. Olive climbed all the way up and pulled out a cog. Emma ran up the ladder and instantly Olive shot out her hand, spraying sparkly dust all over Emma. " Now you will have to stay in the clock tower for ever!" cackled Olive.
" You tricked me!" squealed Emma, who was being dragged into the tower. She started dancing and twirling round and round. "You will remain like this forever!" snarled Olive and zoomed away.
Now Emma dances and dances and if she leaves the clock tower all colour will fade from Ever Happy.

The Holiday
In the holidays Eve went to the Australia royal easter show with her grandma, grandpa, little sister Eila and her cousin Cooper.
The bus journey was so hard for everyone because they all wanted to get to the easter show. When they finally got there Eve asked whether they had to wait in the long line to get tickets. Luckily they had already got their tickets so they walked straight up to get some ride coupons.
The first ride only Eve and Cooper could go on, a monster truck ride. They gave 5 coupons to the man and jumped on a green truck called Big Foot. It must have been a really bumpy ride because they kept jiggling up and down. Next they all went on the merry go round and went up and down and round and round. Everyone then got ice cream, Eila really enjoyed hers.
The animals were next. They went to see the pigs, the baby animals, and of course the horses. Eve collected stamps for all the different stations including wash your hands and natural fibre. They went to get show bags and Eve got one with tricks and jokes and a netball one. Then they went to a circus place and there were balls to juggle, diablo`s to play with, plates to spin, hoola hoops to swirl and a low tightrope to balance on. After that Eve went to sunrise weather and told the weather.
Then they went on some more rides and Eve loved the rocket one were you swung around and up and down. Eve and Eila also got balloons.
Finally it was time to go home and the bus ride home had a lot of happy people on it, all ready to go back home.

News article - Animal lover adopts 1,500 dogs and 200 cats.
Hi,
This is an awesome news article about a lady who started an animal shelter. Hai Wenjin started off looking after a few dogs in her spare time but more and more kept coming in so she had to quit. After that she spent her whole day looking after dogs and cats that need it. She then started an animal shelter with ten volunteers. Luckily most of the food is donated by people. Things were just starting to look good when the government wanted the land back. So Hai Wejin had to relocate to Honyu village, far away from other people so they couldn`t complain about the noise.

EOTC week-garden to table
It was so much fun on Thursday because we got to go to garden to table and make the things to deliver to the Waimarie hospital the next day.
We got our hats and lined up outside in the hot sun, then walked to the garden to table room and got our green apples/red tomato nametags. Everyone got told what they were doing and scrambled to get there.

My group went into our cool quiet classroom with Mrs Masters and Mrs Elmore to make nice and smelly lemon verbena bags with white or yellow ribbons. First I made one with a yellow ribbon, then I
went out with Mrs Elmore and my friend Emily to pick half an ice cream container full of lemon verbena.
Me and Emily had a competition of who could find the biggest lemon verbena leaf. Every time I found one that looked humongous Emily just ruffled through the container and pulled out one even bigger! On the neighbours side of the fence there were tomatoes and we didn't realise they were the neighbours until Mrs Elmore told us, so we picked three from our side of the fence and hid them in the lemon verbena so you couldn't even see a tiny patch of red. Walking back, me and Emily picked a bit of rosemary and hid that in the container too. When we got back Charlotte pulled out one of the tomatoes and said "Why is there a tomato in here? What else have you hidden?" "Just three tomatoes and a bit of rosemary!" Me and Emily giggled. After that I made another lemon verbena bag with a white ribbon.
Next we went inside the garden to table room and made lemon barley water for the Waimarie hospital. We had to read the recipe and get everything we needed : measuring cups. Also all the ingredients: boiling water, six lemons and two cups of sugar. We mixed all the ingredients together and divided the lemon barley water between two jugs,we would water the mixture down and pour it into all the bottles later.
Now it was the end of garden to table and we all had to tidy up. I helped to wipe down the tables and take things to the dishwasher to be cleaned.
That garden to table day was so much fun, especially hiding tomatoes and rosemary in the lemon verbena!

My key competency goals
My key competency goal is managing myself.
I will do this by keeping my writing tidy. I chose this goal because sometimes my writing goes all over the place.
I will also do this by setting higher goals for myself. I chose this goal because sometimes my goals are not high enough for me.
My writing goal
Hi,
my writing goal is to use language features.
I will do this by using metaphors, alliteration and similes.
EOTC week reflection.
1. How are you feeling after EOTC week? Explain.
I feel very happy because I got to do some really fun things and activities. But a bit tired.
2. What did you enjoy most during EOTC week? Explain.
I loved every day and on Friday it was really nice to go in the pools because it was really hot.
3. What was your least favourite thing about EOTC week? Explain.
At the top of Rangitoto, there were heaps of wasps and I was a bit scared.
4. Tell us about something new that you learned.
I learned how to shoot a bow and arrow. You have to stand side on, straighten the arm that your holding the bow in, clip the arrow on the string under a little gold piece, aim and pull the sting back so it was nearly touching your chin then let it go.
