Emily is an AWESOME Citizen

On Friday my best friend Emily got our class's Citizen Cup. I know she really deserved it. She is a kind and loyal friend to everyone. She is always happy and ready to help. She always shares her ideas, she smiles at everyone and tries really hard in her work.

Emily has wonderful manners. Well done Emily!!

Term 2 reflection

1. What are you most pleased with in your learning this term? Why?

Maths because I think I have learnt some new strategies and I also feel a lot more confident.

2. What have you enjoyed most in Term 2? Why?

Garden to Table because this term we have done some challenging things in the garden and some different but delicious food in the kitchen.

3. What did you find difficult in Term 2? Explain.

Nothing, I feel like I haven't found any thing difficult this term.

4. What do you feel like you need more help in? Explain.

Maybe how to write the term reflections that say do you need help or what is difficult.

5. Tell us one or two things you would like to do in Term 3 and why.

I would like everyone in the class to be able to do their own class by themselves or with a buddy.

6. We have been using a Must do/Can do list. What else would you like to add to our list? Out of the things we do, what do you enjoy most?

I really like squiggle stories. Next term I think we should have buddy writing or make a worksheet.

My Reading Goal

My Reading Goal Is:

To look for clues to answer complex inference questions

I Will Do This By:

• Skimming and scanning to find clues.
• Sometimes generalising when I am answering.
• Use what the authors telling me and not telling me to answer questions.

My Maths Goal

My Maths Goal Is:

To use multiplication strategies to solve problems involving fractions

I Will Do This By:

• Learning ALL my times tables.
• To use my knowledge of multiplication to answer fraction questions. e.g. If 3/3 is 18 then 1/3 is 6.

My Writing Goal

My Writing Goal Is:

To use proper punctuation correctly when using dialogue

I Will Do This By:

• Using punctuation inside and outside speech marks correctly.
• Starting a new paragraph each time a new person talks.
• Use common punctuation within speech marks

My Key Competency goal

My Key Competency Goal is:

Relating to others by saying how I am feeling.

I Will Do This By:

• Thinking about how I am feeling.
• To express how I am feeling while staying calm.
• To do this constantly. 

For the horses

On a clear Summer's day fifteen Palominos mares grazed in a paddock with lush green grass. A midget of a pitch black Shetland pony trotted over to say hello. None of the haughty Palominos took any notice and they all cantered away to the other side of the paddock. The little Shetland galloped across to the Palominos with tiny strides.

But the Palominos didn't want the Shetland to join them, so they kicked him. The Shetland didn't mind and thought that they were just play fighting. He nuzzled them at the water trough and made all of them squashed. The Paliminos tried to bite him but they were so squashed that they couldn't.

Later that day when the Palominos were clustered together, whispering secrets, the Shetland enthusiastically charged at them and knocked them over in the mud. They scrambled up with a frustrated look in their eyes. They were going to a show and couldn't get dirty! 

When their owner came he took them all off to give them a thorough clean. After the show the Shetland tried to be affectionate, and this time the haughty Paliminos nuzzled him and played with him!

The Paliminos had obviously learnt their lesson. Ever since they would all be awesome friends.
